After graduation from the University of Natal in South Africa, Dina spent her early career as a teacher in Swaziland, South Africa and NSW, before finding her niche in Australia as a television journalist and presenter. She became the Director of Children’s Television for The Seven Network, won many awards (including several Logies) as a presenter and producer of programs for children. She has been a consultant on children’s television since 1994 and is a registered consultant with the Australian Communications and Media Authority. She was made an Officer in the Order of Australia in 1993 for her services to children’s television. She is currently a director of a multi-media production company.

Beyond her life in television, Dina acted as a Commissioner on the Queensland Criminal Justice Commission for six years and is now a Commissioner for Police Service Reviews. She was also a recipient of United Nations Media Peace Award in 1989, and a finalist in the Telstra Business Woman of the Year (Qld) in 1996. Dina has served on a number of boards and advisory panels including the Board of the Australian Children’s Television Foundation as the Queensland Government representative; Queensland Museum Board of Trustees; and was National Chairman and a director of The Order of Australia Association.

Dina is married to Pat Browne and has one son, Peter; a stepson, Patrick, and two stepdaughters, Hazel and Patrice. Peter married Katie Grant-Taylor in 2011 (pictured) and Dina became a registered marriage celebrant in 2012.
